There are plenty of marketing strategies that don’t involve relying heavily on social media tactics, and those are the ones that we’re going to be sharing with you in this post.
Attend or Create an Event Aimed at Your Target Audience
There are several major events going on in your area all of the time, and if you plan accordingly you can get yourself some free advertisement. Make sure that you bring samples of your products if you sell something physical or bring examples and testimonials about the services that you provide. Find a way to contact the attendees or be ready to sell right there on the spot if it’s permissible according to the event organizers regulations. If you live in a smaller area where there isn’t much going on or if you don’t see any events in your surrounding area that fits with your brand then you can create your own event. There are places like libraries who will let you hold events for free if you just book a room. They usually have stipulations in place that won’t allow you to directly sell to the people who are in attendance. You can share some valuable information or hand out free resources to solidify yourself as expert or thought leader, but make sure that you include your website and contact information on these resources so that the attendees can look you up after the event is over. You can bring a sign up sheet so that you can contact the event attendees to give them a direct sale of your products and services afterwards.
Host a Giveaway
This one can be a bit tricky, but we’re going to break it down for you simply. If you are just starting out and not many people know about your products and services you may not want to give away your products and services because it’s not likely that people will turn up in large volumes to grab something that they aren’t familiar with. Instead you can host a giveaway for a gift card or some other small item from a non-competitor that your target audience is familiar with enough that they trust them. You can get people to sign up online or even at a local event. Another option for little known small business owners is to link up with other small business owners and host a giveaway together. You can all chip in on something juicy that’s sure to attract your mutual target audiences, and then you can maintain the contact list of all of those who signed up for the giveaway. If you’re products and services are well known and you already have a pretty loyal following then giving away your own products and services will be a hot enough ticket to achieve the results that you want.
Share Positive Reviews
Whenever you work with a client or sell a product to someone be sure to request an honest review. You can share these positive reviews with your target audience because we all know that the proof is in the pudding. People trust real reviews from real people so it’s one of the most successful marketing strategies. We live in a time where people can look up business reviews online before they decide to make a purchase so this strategy could definitely work in your favor if you can gather enough positive reviews from clients and customers.
